Description: Two similar hardy perennial plants that light up much of the Australian bushland with a thick carpet of golden colours. Fast growing.

Flowers: A fabulous profusion of large bright golden blooms over several months from late Winter to Summer. Excellent for cut flowers or for drying and preserving.

Soil: Will grow well in almost any soil type. Everlastings respond well to rich soil so, if needed, add natural or artificial fertiliser.

Aspects: Prefers full sun to part-shade. Moderately frost tolerant, but does need protection from severe cold.

Habitat: Widespread along the East Coast of Australia.

Growing: Easy to grow from seed. Quick growing. Fill a pot with moist, sandy soil, wet thoroughly and compress. Sow the seeds thinly on the surface. Do not cover the seed with soil. Ensure the soil does not dry out during germination. Place the seeds in a warm but shaded position to germinate.

Landscape: In Garden Beds, Rockeries, Pots, Tubs and Window Boxes

Cultivation: Germination usually takes 2-3 weeks. Protect seedlings from snails.If seedlings are crowded, thin out by transplanting to other containers.Water seedlings regularly. Once seedlings are about 2-3cm(1″) high they can be planted into an open position in full sun or part-shade.
